We are recruiting a new Trustee with relevant skills and experience to join our existing team of five Trustees.  This is an exciting time to join our young charity and to be part of its planned growth.

TCWF (The Colour Works Foundation) was formed to help 16–30-year-olds who have not yet had the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

This young, local charity is already changing lives. Partnering with local organisations, TCWF runs workshops to equip disadvantaged and socially excluded young people with the tools to build their confidence and resilience.

By building their self-belief, through a colour personality profiling tool, participants develop strong interpersonal and communication skills so they can make better life choices for themselves.

Role Outline:

As a Trustee you will work alongside the existing team of 5 Trustees to ensure the effective governance of the charity for delivering maximum impact for TCWF beneficiaries.

What the commitment is:

The commitment of Trustees is estimated at around 1 day per month.  Board meetings are held in the evenings up to 6 times a year via videocall.  Additional meetings are held via videocall or in person in Poole or Bournemouth.   We ask for candidates to be able to commit to the standard three-year term.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success.  We would like to maintain the diversity of our board and welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities.  Therefore, we would particularly like to hear from women, ethnic minorities, younger people and disabled people.

Skills and experience

Previous experience as a charity trustee is desirable but not essential.  Ideal candidates will show a passion for our work and a desire to make a positive contribution.  In addition to the statutory duties of all trustees, you will be asked to use your personal skills, specific knowledge and experience to ensure that the charity is run efficiently and effectively.  Experience of fundraising and financial management are of particular interest but again, not a prerequisite.

We are seeking an active and engaged Trustee, keen to work in a collaborative team environment, who will bring commitment, enthusiasm and energy to the role, to help drive growth and to really help us make a difference to the lives of young people.

Is this you? Can you help make that difference? We would love to hear from you!
